this sleek vase being one of the few functional vessels maintaining a sculptural form for which Fukami is noted. Glazed in bluish white known as seihakuji inspired by the ancient quingbai ceramics of the Chinese Sung dynasty. Crisp scalloped lines to one side of the vase give a soaring effect to the vase as if reaching to the sky being a key inspirational element.
