a large Bizen ware ash glaze rectangular plate with Rosanjin signature Oribe glaze .. landscape with autumn moon.

Rosanjin made a number of these type of platters and to my knowledge this is one of the largest.

the underside of the plate is marked with a barely discernible ro mark covered by the thick glaze, quote from the book The Art of Rosanjin by Sydney B. Cardozo/Masaaki Hirano … ‘Rosanjin was capricious in his use of seals and markings making difficult to verify … on many of the heavier glazed pieces , most notably those of Shino and Oribe, his mark was all but obscured ‘.
